Best Australian Scuba Diving

Scuba diving enthusiasts are in for the treat of a lifetime when they explore the beautiful waters of Australia. I wrote this post after my travel to the Kenyan coast city of Mombasa. By the way, did you know you can book cheap flights to Mombasa online?

There are numerous diving sites and 4,000 species of fish awaiting your arrival. Read further to learn more about a few great spots where you will see everything from underwater tunnels to long abandoned submarines and swim alongside dolphins, sea lions and so much more.
Baird Bay

Famous for the endangered sea lion colony which resides here, you will enjoy the opportunity to watch these lovely creatures play in the water along with bottlenosed dolphins. You can expect to be given a bit of a nudge from these sweethearts in the hopes you will spend some time playing with them.
Ningaloo Reef
Known as the largest fringing reef in the world, here you will find 200 species of hard coral, 50 species of soft coral and over 500 species of fish. The gentle whale shark, the world's largest fish, makes its home here and is happy to have swimming company. Gorgonians, crappie fish, sea whips, turtles, manta rays and much more call these waters home.
Mornington Peninsula
Birds, fish and seals enjoy this paradise. You can expect to swim alongside weedy sea dragons, squid, rock cod, urchins, cuttlefish, sting rays, dolphins and seahorses. There are underwater cliffs, caves, ledges, wall dives, drop-offs and submerged WWI submarines.
Great Barrier Reef
Known as the world's largest living organism and big enough to be seen from space, you will find no end of marvels when you explore here. Among the many things to see, you will find shipwrecks from long ago, tremendous reef gardens, coral canyons, turtles, sea stars, crabs and an entire underwater world of wonders.
Darwin Harbour
WWII wrecks and boundless amounts of fish are the stars here. You can expect to see jewfish, sharks, coral trout and barracuda. In the more shallow reefs, look for soft coral trees, vase sponges, ascidians, harp corals and gorgonians. You may even see an octopus or a slate pencil urchin.
These are all wonderful scuba diving sites, but are just a few of what is available to you in beautiful Australia. Stay as long as you can and enjoy as many diving sites as time permits. You will no doubt be wanting to return again as soon as possible.
